A few hours in the garden can achieve a lot when everyone gets stuck in. 🌿💚

Gerri, our community engagement officer, recently joined some of our care professionals for our monthly volunteering session at Leonard Cheshire in Chipstead, spending the day alongside Spirit of Peace.

It’s become a regular date in the diary for our team and one they always look forward to.

Giving the gardens some care and attention

This month, there was plenty to keep everyone busy.

Our team rolled up their sleeves to tidy the gardens, tackle the weeds and deadhead the flowers, helping to look after the outdoor spaces for everyone at Leonard Cheshire to enjoy. 🌸🌱

It was a day of gardening, conversation and teamwork, with everyone playing their part.

For Gerri and our care professionals, volunteering here is also a chance to spend time with people in the community and support a place they’ve come to know through their regular visits.

Volunteering in our local community

Our monthly visits are about giving our time and doing something practical that can be enjoyed by others.

They also give our care professionals an opportunity to come together outside their day-to-day roles and take part in something locally.

Working alongside Spirit of Peace makes these sessions even more special. By bringing people together and sharing the jobs that need doing, plenty can be achieved in just one day.

We’re proud to continue giving our time at Leonard Cheshire in Chipstead and look forward to our next monthly volunteering session.
