Meet the team

Julien

Training Coordinator

Julien began his career in the training sector, he was a childcare assessor for 12 years and wanted to continue to work in a role where he helped people and made a difference. He heard that Bluebird Care provided quality care for their customers and wanted to be part of that.

Julien initially started working for Bluebird Care in a Maternity Cover Recruitment role, this involved recruiting staff for the Sevenoaks and Lewisham offices. When this ended a fantastic opportunity came up where he could meet our customers and find out their history and their preferences. He really enjoy this role, it was so lovely to meet our customers and find out their life histories.

Recently, Julien has been appointed as the Training Coordinator, He delivers our Skills Assessment and Refresher training to all staff in Bromley, Sevenoaks and Lewisham.

Julien says 'I enjoy seeing new people, training them about the care industry and what the role of a care worker involves. Our focus throughout training is delivering person centred care in a safe manner, respecting privacy, dignity and independence. Bluebird Care is a quality care provider. It has an individual approach to its customers and carers, and you feel that you are part of something special. It really feels like a family environment, where everyone is welcomed, valued, respected and cared for.'

Rebecca

Live-In Manager

Rebecca joined Bluebird Care Bromley as a Care Assistant in 2011. Her daughter was just starting primary school and she was looking for a full time job that could work around school hours. A career in Care wasn’t something that she had planned, but for a young mum wanting to get back into work, Bluebird Care had a lot to offer her: tons of training, support – both professional and emotional – and flexible working hours to suit family life. As the years went by, Rebecca grew a real passion for caring for her customers and loved working for Bluebird Care.

She was delighted at the opportunity to progress in her career by joining the office team in May 2018 as Field Care Supervisor for Live-in Care. Her responsibilities were split between logistics (organising carers' rosters and scheduling visits to new customers) and supporting the agency's community-based Care Assistants in the delivery of a high quality service to our customers.

From 2018 to present Rebecca has moved to several positions within the Bromley team, from supervising the domiciliary care team, coordination, and customer care services, to extend her knowledge and experience within the care sector.

Rebecca particularly enjoys building a rapport with customers and carers while providing a supportive network and a high level of customer service within the business.

Rebecca is also a qualified manual handling trainer, training induction carers and annual refresher training. She particularly enjoys sharing previous care experiences of her own within her training to make the class more personal and entertaining whilst learning.

Rebecca recently received a promotion to Live-In Care Manager for customers within Bromley, Sevenoaks and Lewisham areas. This is a new challenge for Rebecca to reach out to new customers and existing to provide a high-quality care service with our Live-In Care team. She aims to make the care team feel valued and supported with what can sometimes be a difficult role as a Live-In Carer.

Rebecca's is a true Bluebird Care success story; she feels Care is a truly rewarding career and one that really opens your eyes to life in general. She says she’s met so many different characters along the way and gained memories that will last her a life time.

Sandra

Live-In Care Supervisor

Prior to starting with Bluebird Care, Sandra was working as a secretary for a building construction company full-time.  Alongside this role Sandra joined the team in 2015 as a part-time carer, working evenings and weekends. Sandra has always wanted to be a nurse, being a carer was the next best thing.

When Covid came, Sandra got made redundant from my full-time job and therefore started working full-time as a carer with Bluebird Care Bromley.

She found instant job satisfaction, Sandra says it is an amazing feeling to make such a difference to people lives, enabling them to remain in the comfort of their own homes.

Sandra was promoted to Live-In Care Supervisor in 2022, a large part of the role is supporting the carers while in placement, carrying out regular supervisions to ensure both customer and carers are well.

Sandra understands the need for carers to feel supported, she takes great pride in being one of the many people that offer a great support network to our lone workers. ‘I really enjoy that no two days are the same, a busy working life keeps me on my toes. I get to meet some incredible people and I love working for a company that genuinely cares not only for their customers but also their carers. I was and am still a carer so I know some of the challenges, and I feel this puts me in a good position to guide and support other carers in the field. While in employment with Bluebird Care Sandra has recently gained her level 3 in Health and Social care, something she is very proud of.

Zowie

Recruitment Manager

Zowie has had various administrative roles throughout her working life – ranging from Casework Assistant to Admin Team Leader for a large housing association – however as she reached middle age, she realised she needed to switch to a career that offered more job satisfaction.

Zowie’ s research led her to Care, and specifically to Bluebird Care Bromley where she was fortunate to be offered a job as a Care Assistant in 2017. Putting a smile on people’s faces for a living was a role which she thoroughly enjoyed!

Zowie then had the opportunity to take a role as a Field Care Supervisor, with responsibility for supervising and supporting Care Assistants out in the field. Being in the office allowed Zowie to see the business from a whole different perspective and to appreciate all the hard work that takes place behind the scenes to ensure the welfare of our customers and staff!

Zowie then took the opportunity to become a Care Coordinator, which she enjoyed for 2 years.

Zowie was was promoted to Recruitment Manager in 2022, she is thoroughly enjoying this role.  Zowie believes that the various roles that she has held throughout her time at Bluebird Care has given her the tools to make her an effective recruiter.

Zowie is enjoying being part of the office team and feels that her administrative experience coupled with hands on care work puts her in a strong position to excel in all aspects of her role.

Vicki

Recruiter

Vicki has only recently joined Bluebird care in June 2023. She has always worked in Administration and has enjoyed the variety these roles have given her.

She does not come from a care background, but secured a role as a  recruitment administrator with a care company 2 years ago. She then came to realize how rewarding employing the right carer for the customers is. So, she took the plunge and applied as a recruiter with Bluebird Care.

She loves how the carers she interviews are dedicated, caring and compassionate about providing the best care for our customers and how rewarding hiring the right candidate for our customer’s needs.

Shan

Recruitment administrator

Shan joined Bluebird Care Bromley in April 2022 as a care administrator, she was looking for a fulfilling job which was also flexible to fit in between the school runs.

Bluebird Care has provided that and much more. Shan has now worked her way into recruitment and is responsible for ensuring an efficient and compliant back-office, as well as supporting the Recruitment Manager and the rest of the office team.

Shan is very grateful for the opportunities Bluebird Care has given and very much enjoys being part of such a lovely and supportive team. She would highly recommend Bluebird care Bromley to anyone who is looking for a career in the care.
