Bluebird Care Scarborough & Bridlington is supporting Carers Week 2016, an annual campaign which takes place from 6-12 June.

Carers Week is supported and sponsored by many organisations, charitable and otherwise, including Carers UK, Age UK, Independent Age, Carers Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support and Sainsbury’s.

This year the focus of the campaign is to help build Carer Friendly Communities where carers will feel supported to look after their family or friends, and are recognised as individuals with needs of their own.

Bluebird Care Scarborough & Bridlington are taking part in the Carers Week 2016 campaign and will be attending an event at Scalby Library on Tuesday 7th June between 10am and 2pm, this will be attended by Sarah Young and there will be a carer’s talk regarding how we can support, along with opportunities for questions and answers regarding funding and extra support available for unpaid carers.

Emma Finn, director of Bluebird Care Scarborough & Bridlington, said:

We are proud to promote Carers Week to help raise awareness of the unpaid carers in our community and to help highlight the challenges that they face day in, day out. We hope that supporting this campaign will provide help to those caring in our local area, and make them aware of the support that is available to them.”
