Bluebird Care Scarborough & Bridlington will be attending a workshop on ways to improve patient safety at Scarborough Hospital Trust.

Scarborough Hospital is taking part in a two year project to help ward staff, as a team, implement a daily discussion (called a ‘huddle’) to keep patients safe.

Huddles, which are brief exchanges of information between clinical and non-clinical staff involved in a patient’s care, are one of a series of quality improvement techniques being trialled at hospitals nationwide.

The aim is that by using methods such as the huddle, communication between our doctors, nurses, and ward staff will improve, to ensure that issues will be raised before becoming a risk.

The workshop is taking place on the 27th January 2016, and a member of our staff will be in attendance. We feel this will be beneficial as they can contribute ideas to the workshop on the day, but also they will gain useful knowledge which we can implement into our own communication techniques here in our own organisation.
