The event was organised by Bluebird Care, an organisation that provides care and support to people living in their own homes – and was especially put together for their customers so they could all celebrate the festive season together!
Katerina Papamichalaki, Managing Director at Bluebird Care Rushmoor & Surrey Heath, said:
“As an organisation at the heart of the community, we have a desire to host and support events that benefit local people – especially at Christmas time!
Too often people, particularly the elderly, feel isolated and lonely in their own homes, which is why it’s important to have events like this that people can attend.”
Children from St Mary’s Nursery School were invited along to the event to sing carols and take part in some yuletide fun with their older counterparts. A selection of Christmas snacks and treats were served throughout the afternoon.
£100 was raised on the day for the national charity, Children in Need.
Bluebird Care is a local provider of care in the home. They specialise in working with customers who live with dementia, physical and learning disabilities, and work alongside their families, social services, GPs and Clinical Commissioning Groups to ensure each person receives the care they need.
