The pandemic may have taken much of our joy away this year, but COVID-19 did not stop us from spreading a bit of Christmas cheer on Friday 11th December for National Christmas Jumper Day.

National Christmas Jumper Day is an annual event that attracts support from individuals and organisations, businesses and schools, to find their most festive jumpers and wear the jumpers to work for the day instead of normal clothes or uniforms, to raise funds through sponsorship. A cheerful and festive way or raising funds and awareness for Save the Children in time for Christmas.

Our traditional ‘Christmas Elfie’ competition was in full swing in celebration of national Christmas Jumper Day. Carers and Customers dusted off their most festive and flamboyant Christmas garments, and sent in their best selfie snaps posing together with a chance to win a prize whilst also raising money for a worthy cause.

100% of the proceeds raised by those taking part were donated to Save the Children UK, a fantastic charity with a mission to make sure children in the UK and around the world are safe and healthy. They support them to learn, grow and become who they want to be. Find out more information at www.savethechildren.org.uk

We would like to thank everyone that took part to make the day fun and memorable, whilst continuing to adhere to the Covid-19 infection control guidance in place to keep people safe. Although it may be hard to tell who is smiling behind those face masks and tinsel hats, with aid of Santa's little helpers we were to identify and nominate a winner of the competition! A massive congratulations to Jo A (carer) and Rita W (customer) for being crowned the Christmas Elfie 2020 champions (see image below). What a fantastic effort - job well done!
