We are only able to provide the high standard of care that we are proud to uphold through the training that we provide each member of staff when they join us as a Care Assistant.

Regardless of experience, all our staff complete a robust induction programme that covers both practical and theoretical elements of the role before visiting customers at home.

This classroom training is complimented by spending time shadowing a more experienced member of staff, support and supervision from our office team and completion of the Care Certificate.

The Care Certificate is siplit into three main areas:

  • Practical Skills
  • Values & Behaviours
  • Knowledge Units

It is a step towards a formal qualification and includes the following 15 standards:

  • Understand your role
  • Your personal development
  • Duty of care
  • Equality and diversity
  • Work in a person centred way
  • Communication
  • Privacy and dignity
  • Fluids and nutrition
  • Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities
  • Safeguarding adults
