This year Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham are taking part in ‘Steptember’.
How many steps did you take today? This year Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham are taking part in ‘Steptember’.
Running from the 2nd through to the 29th of September, the aim of Steptember is for you to gain sponsorship from your friends and family by taking 10,000 steps a day for 28 consecutive days. Walking isn’t the only way to reach your daily step count, you can run, dance, cycle or even swim your way to 10,000 steps.
All donations received go towards supporting Scope, a charity who work with disabled people and their families to ensure they have equal opportunities. Donations such as these are vital to the running of Scope and making sure they can continue to support the thousands of people that need them every year.
To date, Steptember has already raised over £1 million worldwide and more than £21,000 in the UK alone.
Maria Leonard, Director of Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham commented:
When I heard about Steptember I thought it was such a brilliant idea. Not only is it a fun way to become more active, but it also raises much need funds to support both individuals with disabilities and their families. Its best done in teams of four so you can have some friendly competition. We registered our teams in August and we have already raised over £500 collectively .”
We will post an update on how Maria and the rest of the Bluebird Care Richmond and Twickenham teams fare in their ‘Steptember’ challenge.
Getting involved is easy, simply register on the Steptember website and receive your pedometer and kit in the post.
