Meet Joanna – One of our Bluebird Richmond & Twickenham Stars

At Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham, we are lucky to have many fantastic carers who work hard to provide the award-winning service we deliver to our customers. 

Working in the home care industry can be daunting, but that is why we have our care supervisors on hand to guide you throughout your journey and help with any issues or queries you may have. 

We spoke with one of our Care Supervisors, Joanna, who has been with the company since 2012 and delved into her working world, and why she chose a career in care. 

In Poland, Joanna looked after her grandma for over six years before relocating to London in 2011 to work as a waitress in a Members Social Club. Many customers were second-world war veterans, and that was when Joanna first bonded with the elderly community. One day, one of her customers asked Joana if she could help her with daily chores during the week. After helping her for a few months, Joanna realised she loved helping others in need and started looking for training in the social care field. 

Joanna said of her love of care; "I love building bonds with my customers. I'm naturally a kind-hearted person, and I get a lot of satisfaction from my role in helping others."

Six months into her care career, in 2012, A friend of Joanna's recommended working for Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham, and she hasn't looked back. 

Joanna shares her love of working for the company:

After three years of being a carer, Joanna became a mentor for new carers, guiding them throughout the beginning of their journey. She later progressed to Senior Carer, and a couple of years ago, promoted to Care Supervisor.

More recently, Joanna has just completed a course on 'Train the Trainer,' a qualification that allows her to teach others in 'Manual Handling & Medication.'
