Impact of rising fuel costs

Kevin McCormack, Managing Director acknowledges impact of rising fuel costs to our Bluebird Care staff

Whilst the impact for the people of the Ukraine is unimaginable for us, we are experiencing some of the knock on effects on our economy, one of these is the increasing price of fuel.

Due to the current price hike at the pumps I asked our finance department too check that the 30p/business mile paid is still a fair value of compensation.

Having made the relevant calculations we can assure you that the 30p for each business mile still should still exceed the actual the cost of petrol used per mile, for the purpose of transparency and clarity we are happy to provide you with the tools to work out the average petrol cost per mile in your car so that you are able to compare this to the 30p/business mile you receive in your payslip.

We would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that in addition to the 30p/business mile we pay you can claim a further 15p/mile from the Government.

As this is such a current issue we will be offering advice over the next couple of weeks to calculate the average cost per mile in your car and also how to claim the extra 15p off of the government.

If you are interested in joining a session please contact your local Bluebird Care offce and we will send you over available dates and times once they are confirmed.

Thank you for your continued hard work and quality of care.
