Bluebird Care Essex and Redbridge has been established for 17 years. Our office is at 137 George Lane, South Woodford, a short drive from Ilford. Most of the families we work with are sons and daughters arranging care for a parent, often while juggling work and their own families. We know how much that can weigh on you.

How it works

  1. Free home visit. We come to your parent's home in Ilford, meet you both and listen.

Care that knows Ilford

  • Coming home from hospital. King George Hospital on Barley Lane, Goodmayes, is the local hospital for many Ilford families, and Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone is nearby. If your parent is due home after a stay, call us and we'll talk through the support they'll need.
  • Visiting from further afield. Ilford station is on the Elizabeth line and has step-free access by lift, which helps if you travel in to see your parent.
  • Getting out and about. Valentines Park near Gants Hill is the largest green space in Redbridge, and home to the historic Valentines Mansion. Our Care Experts can help your parent enjoy a gentle walk or a coffee out.
  • Support for families. The Redbridge Carers Support Service offers advice, support groups and breaks for family members who care for someone. Call them on 020 8514 6251.
  • Memory worries. If you're concerned about your parent's memory, speak to their GP first. The GP can refer them to the Redbridge Memory Service, run by NELFT.
  • Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering is based on Cranbrook Road in Ilford and runs community services for older people.
