All my memories are here

Derek and his late wife found their home while cycling the Essex countryside on a tandem. It was derelict, two up and two down, but she knew straight away it was where she wanted to live. Together they brought it back to life, and she turned the garden into something so beautiful they opened it to the public.

Today Derek still looks after the two greenhouses, the grapevine his wife loved and his beds of tomatoes, runner beans and spinach. His daughters would love him to move closer to them, but this is where his memories are and where he wants to spend his days.

Our Care Experts help make that possible, from everyday support at home to trips out for his shopping and medication. In his words: “I couldn’t live here alone without the help from Bluebird Care. I really couldn’t.”

It’s good to be home. It really is.

Understanding the Cost of Home Care

Choosing care for yourself or someone you love is about so much more than numbers, it’s about feeling safe, supported and understood in the place that means the most: home. However, we know affordability matters, which is why we’re committed to being open and honest about how care is priced right from the very first conversation.
