Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell wins big at Great South East Care Awards

A BERKSHIRE home care provider has won two awards in the regional final of this year's Great British Care Awards 2019.

Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell reached the regional finals of this year’s Great British Care Awards 2019, which celebrate excellence across the care sector and pay tribute to staff and employers who have demonstrated outstanding excellenceMore than 500 of the very best in social care attended an awards ceremony at The Hilton Hotel, Brighton, on Saturday November 9 for the finals of the Great South East Care Awards, where the category winners were announced.

The Great South East Care Awards are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of 10 regional awards celebrating excellence across the care sector.

Mehul Shah and Tushar Shah, directors of Bluebird Care, won the Care Employer Award.

This award acknowledges and celebrates an employer’s commitment to care and their success in delivering an excellent service.

Rebecca Hawkins Business Development Manager said: "To win these awards means so much to us all, it shows the hard work, dedication and passion from all our staff has paid off.

"This award was won on behalf of everyone at Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead and Bracknell.

"I have been working for Bluebird Care for over 10 years now and I am so pleased to see our team get this recognition."

Alex Witten, Live in Care Manager for Bluebird Care Reading and Maidenhead won the Care Assessor/Care Planner award which recognises how important individual Initial Assessments, followed by agreed Care Plans, showing the individuals needs and choices of each individual is.

Alex Witten said: "I feel very humble for the recognition and to then win this award was overwhelming, Bluebird Care strive to deliver high quality care every day and I am just a small part that makes Bluebird Care what it is today.”

The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice within both home care and care homes sectors, and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.

Winners of the Great South East Care Awards will go through to the final at Birmingham’s ICC on 20th
