Bluebird Care home care provider reaches regional finals of the Great British Care Awards for the South East

Bluebird Care Reading, Wokingham, Windsor, Maidenhead ad Bracknell, home care provider, has reached the regional finals in three categories of this year’s Great British Care Awards 2019.

The Great British Care Awards celebrate excellence across the care sector and pay tribute to staff and employers who have demonstrated outstanding excellence.

A senior carer of Bluebird Care Angela McMillan has been selected in the Home Care Worker category which recognises high quality support, dedication, skills development and awareness of colleagues. Bluebird Care Manager Kerry Brooker said: “Angela is so humble and caring it is a pleasure working with her, she has such a wonderful approach to our customers and her colleagues and is respected so much within Bluebird Care. We are all so proud of Angela as we are of every member of the team here at Bluebird Care Reading and Wokinghamas they are all making a huge difference to the life of the customer’s they support.”

Mehul Shah and Tushar Shah Directors of Bluebird Care have been nominated for the Care Employer Award and been named as a finalist. This award acknowledges and celebrates an employer’s commitment to care and their success in delivering an excellent service. To impress the judges, employers must demonstrate entrepreneurial flair and have a sustained track record of delivering high quality care.

Rebecca Hawkins Business Development Manager said "To have one nomination is great, but we are extremely proud to have three finalists at South West Regional awards. I have been working for Bluebird Care for over 10 years now and I am so pleased to see my directors get this recognition”

Alex Witten Live in Care Manager for Bluebird Care has been nominated for The Care Assessor/Care Planner awards which recognises how important individual Initial Assessments, followed by agreed Care Plans, showing the individuals needs and choices of each individual is. Alex Witten said” I feel very humble to for the recognition for the hard work we all do, this nomination is not just for me but the whole team”.

Mehul, Tushar, Angela and Alex will all will all be interviewed by the Great British Care Award judges this month. All finalists are invited to a gala dinner on 9thNovember at the Hilton Hotel, Brighton where the results will be announced. Category winners go forward to the national finals in 2020.
