'Bluebird Care' is celebrating a double success after its Reading & Wokingham branch were awarded an 'outstanding' status following a CQC inspection, which coincided with the organisation reaching a 10 year anniversary of delivering high-end care to older people and people with disabilities in the Berkshire area.

The latest Care Quality Commission inspection results has positioned the Bluebird Care Reading & Wokingham branch as the only care provider in Berkshire to achieve this rating. Marking the achievement and continued success, the branch held a celebration event on 24th March, which saw carers and customers come together with the Deputy Mayor & Mayoress of Wokingham,  Cllr Rob Stanton & Mrs Maureen Stanton  and the Deputy Mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, Cllr John Lenton and and Margret Lenton to mark the event.
Deputy Mayor, Rob Stanton praised the carers and the office team for the fantastic work they do in supporting the vulnerable in the community with Deputy Mayor John Lenton, congratulating the team for their high standards of care and fantastic efforts in raising over £1,800 for Alzheimer’s research.

The robust and stringent CQC inspections are designed to ensure care providers are delivering care services to a high standard and involves engaging with management, staff, customers and their families. The comprehensive report, published in February 2017, found that the branch operated an overall 'outstanding' level of service.

More specifically the inspection found that the organisation demonstrated an outstanding service when it came to customer care and leadership. The CQC commented that customers and families were treated with kindness, compassion, respect and there was excellent focus on person centred care.

The CQC report commented: “People told us they were happy and extremely satisfied with the service they received. One person told us they would recommend the organisation to anyone. Other comments we received were that customers were really satisfied, carers were never in a rush and provide extra help when needed. Customers thought the service was exceptionally good."

Reading & Wokingham's Tushar Shah commented: “We're thrilled to have been awarded the highest CQC rating possible. We've always strived to deliver the very highest levels of service and our customers have been our priority since we began. We're always looking for ways to develop our services and improve where ever we can, so reaching our 10 year anniversary is a fantastic mile-marker to receive our 'outstanding' rating.”
