Bluebird Care Peterborough & Rutland, took as stall to support the local Rotary event and the community.  It was a fabulous day with lots of family fun and it was great to be involved in the community supporting such good causes, including Rotary, Alzheimer's UK and Stroke Association.  The weather was fabulous and we had the added joy of being close to sample much of the amazing fayre that our fellow stall holders served!  Yum!

At our stall, we dedicated a competition to raise monies and awareness for The Stroke Association, and their Make May Purple campaign, dedicated to helping rebuild lives after stroke.  We gave away free helium  balloons and sweets to passer by and ran a fund raising competition to guess how many balloons were in the car.  The prize was a large fluffy bunny!   It was a great success!  Not only did we thoroughly enjoy being involved with the Rotary event, we raised a total of £93.00 for The Stroke Association.

Bluebird Care, based on Wharf Road in Stamford, provide home care support, visits and companionship throughout Stamford, Rutland & Peterborough, and are the only provider locally to have achieved Care Quality Commission, rating of ‘Outstanding’.

Director, Leisa MacKenzie, said, “The Rotary carry out such important work, and being part of such a wonderful community and event was just wonderful!  To have the added result of the community being so much fun and so generous to support the fund raising at our stall for Stroke Awareness just made it fantastic!  We support many customers and their families who have suffered strokes, helping them to be independent and live a full life after the effects of stroke.  Our own Bluebird Care family member, our Care Coordinator, Abby, herself, is a survivor of a stroke, so it is very close to our hearts.  We are so proud of our Bluebird Care family volunteering their time for such great causes.”

The winner of the Bluebird Care Bunny is David Wells, who guessed the correct number of balloons in the car, of which there were 40.
