Tim Carey, Director of Bluebird Care Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough & Oundle, recently visited the Dementia Resource Centre Peterborough to learn more about the support available locally for people living with dementia and their families, and to explore opportunities for closer collaboration.
During the visit, Tim met with Local Service Manager for Peterborough, Siobhan Merrygold and Local Service Manager for Northamptonshire, Suzy Dunham to hear about the wide range of services and activities they provide for the local community.
The Dementia Resource Centre offers a welcoming and supportive environment for people affected by dementia. The centre provides access to information, guidance and practical advice, as well as a variety of activities designed to support wellbeing and reduce isolation. These include dementia advice services, support groups for carers, social groups, and opportunities for people living with dementia to remain active and connected within their community.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss how organisations like Bluebird Care and the Dementia Resource Centre can work together to ensure individuals and families across Peterborough have access to the support they need.
At Bluebird Care Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough & Oundle, we are always looking for ways to strengthen the support available to our customers. Building relationships with local organisations helps ensure people living with dementia, and those who care for them, can access valuable advice, resources and community connections.
