Nutrition & Hydration Week (16th–22nd March) is an annual campaign aimed at raising awareness of the vital role food and drink play in health and wellbeing — particularly for older adults. Staying nourished and properly hydrated is essential for maintaining energy, supporting immunity, and improving overall quality of life.
To celebrate the week, Bluebird Care Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough & Oundle created a special Nutrition & Hydration pack for all of their customers. Each pack included a bottle of water, a pint of milk, a tea bag, an apple, a cake, and a helpful leaflet from Nutrition & Hydration Week, offering practical tips to stay well with what we eat and drink.
“Our care experts were delighted to deliver the packs to customers during their regular visits,” said Leisa McKenzie, Director of Bluebird Care Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough & Oundle. “It was a lovely opportunity not just to provide some useful items, but to chat with people about how they can maintain their nutrition and hydration every day. Supporting our customers to stay healthy and comfortable is at the heart of everything we do.”
Throughout the week, care experts took the time to engage with customers, offering guidance and sharing tips on how to include more fluids, nutritious snacks, and balanced meals in their daily routines. Small, consistent steps can make a big difference to wellbeing, and the packs served as both a reminder and a helpful prompt.
Nutrition & Hydration Week is an important reminder of the positive impact that diet and hydration have on everyday life, and Bluebird Care’s initiative highlighted their ongoing commitment to supporting the health and happiness of older adults across the local community.
