Bluebird Care Oxford Continues to Recruit Throughout Covid-19 And Prepares For Expansion

Bluebird Care Oxford has continued to actively recruit throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The home care provider is encouraging any local people who might be considering a career in care, or are looking for a new opportunity to join them for a virtual Facebook careers event. Bluebird Care Oxford is aiming to recruit 50 new team members across Oxfordshire in 2021.

The virtual Q&A will be live on Facebook on 17th February and it will give people the opportunity to ask important questions about salaries, rotas, experience, training, and Covid-19 guidelines. This Q&A will give people an insight into the role of a Care Assistant at Bluebird Care Oxford.

Alice Cox, Support Supervisor at Bluebird Care Oxfordshire, said:

I love that I am able to support our customers as much as I can and make a difference to their day. Seeing their faces smile as soon as you walk in and hearing all their stories that they are willing to share. This is one of the most rewarding jobs you can find.

Lauren Pitts, Lead Care Supervisor who joined Bluebird Care Oxfordshire in 2020, added:

I would recommend a career in care to anyone; it is rewarding and allows you to support those who may be facing difficulties in their lives. You are able to build relationships with people and be a part of their journey, which I feel is a privilege. There is great career progression for anyone who wants to work up and there is continuous development with much support provided.

To support their expansion, Bluebird Care Oxford is moving to a new, bigger office at CMS House on Watlington Road in Oxford. The new office will provide training for new and existing team members, provide more space for team meetings and allow for breakout areas where team members can relax on their breaks.

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Bluebird Care Oxford has seen an increase in applications. Enquiries from individuals who worked in hospitality have increased significantly, as Bluebird Care Oxford has been able to offer many people a new and rewarding opportunity to pursue a career in the care sector.

Melissa Charnock, Head of Marketing, Recruitment and Employee Engagement at Bluebird Care Oxford, said:

Coronavirus has affected many people through redundancy, unemployment, and furlough. Bluebird Care can offer a secure, stable career. No experience is necessary as we provide full training and support, however, due to the locations of our customers we require all our staff to have valid driving licenses.

We know that many people will have experience in care within their daily lives - weather that’s bringing up their children, looking after a loved one or helping a neighbour. We also find that workers from retail, hospitality or customer service have great transferrable skills to become a Care Assistant. Over the year, we’ll continue our recruitment campaigns, interviewing and employing individuals who can deliver high quality care to our customers.
