Unleash your Inner Elf

Published: 17/11/2021

The countdown to Christmas has begun, and Alzheimer’s Society is once again calling on its army of supporters to unleash their inner elf to mark our ever-popular Elf Day, which this year falls on December 3.

Participants invite family, friends, colleagues, or students to get sponsored to dress up as an elf – and the money they raise helps us to fund vital services that support people living with dementia.

An Elf Day event can be hosted at home, by colleagues in the workplace and in schools. You can spice it up with fun-filled activities such as festive bake sales, Christmas quizzes, and best-dressed elf competitions.  In fact, our free fundraising pack is full of inspirational ideas that will help you to make the most of your day.

And although we’ve designated December 3 as our official Elf Day, you can host your event anytime during December. You don’t even have to dress up if that’s not your thing – you might simply use Elf day as an excuse for a fundraising festive get-together.

Regardless of how you choose to get involved, you will be raising vital funds and awareness during what can be a challenging and isolating time for people affected by dementia.

We often see an increased demand for our services from families noticing changes in loved ones over the festive period. All the money raised will provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

Those living with dementia, and their carers, have been worst hit by coronavirus, and for many this festive season, the magic of Christmas will be marred by families having to cope with an unmanageable and irreversible decline in their loved ones.

Please support them by taking part in Elf Day. To find out more, visit www.alzheimers.org.uk/ElfDay
