Bluebird Care’s director of operations, Fiona Williams, was invited to join Bridget Warr (Chief Executive, UKHCA) and Mark Thomas (Managing Director, Call Monitoring 2000) on the judging panel for the Great British Care Awards finals. Supported by the Department of Health and widely regarded as the premiere awards celebration for the care sector, the panel selected the national winners for this year’s National Home Care Awards being held at the ICC, Birmingham, 27th June 2015.

Speaking about the judging day, Fiona said:

“I was very proud to see Bluebird Care franchise owners Claire and Norman Murphy (Alton & Alresford, Winchester, Eastleigh & Romsey and Andover & Stockbridge offices) and Jyoti Kohli (Haringey office) and their finalists vying for the coveted awards. Across the business we have no fewer than 11 finalists competing for 8 awards, which I think is just fantastic, and this shows Bluebird Care’s commitment to providing the very best homecare and support across the UK.

The standard was so high it was hard to decide who the winners should be, all the finalists were very good, and for different reasons. We wish them the very best for the finals in June!”

Bluebird Care has almost double the number of finalists than any other participant at the awards. Among the 11 Bluebird Care finalists are franchise owners Claire and Norman Murphy, who also won the coveted Bluebird Care Brand Champion Award 2014. They have contributed an exemplary 5 out of Bluebird Care’s 11 finalists. Claire and Norman are nominated for The Care Employer award and also have employees competing for The Dignity in Care Award, The Home Care Coordinator Award and The Care Innovator Award. Also noteworthy, they had 2 further employees shortlisted for the regional awards at the Great South East Care Awards towards the end of last year.

Celebrating excellence across the sector and paying tribute to those who lead their field of work is what The Great British Care Awards are all about, and this year Bluebird Care will be supporting their mission by sponsoring the Home Care Registered Manager award at the National Finals.
