On Monday 5th October, Kelly and Catherine had the pleasure of attending Milton Keynes University Hospital's Annual Public Meeting. This was a fantastic opportunity to hear from the Trust's leadership team about their achievements over the past year, learn more about their plans for the future and see how digital transformation is helping shape healthcare in MK.
For us, it was also a brilliant chance to connect with volunteers, healthcare professionals and others working across health and social care, share what we do at Bluebird Care and learn more about what is happening within the hospital — both now and looking ahead. We left having met some truly wonderful people, had some really interesting conversations and made some great connections and we are looking forward to building on those conversations and hopefully collaborating with some of the fantastic people we met very soon.
A big thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us and to the team at Milton Keynes University Hospital for putting on such an informative and welcoming event. The plans for a new hospital to house maternity, neo-natal and children's services look incredibly exciting, and we look forward to seeing the vision become reality over the next few years. It was also great to see that the new Oak Wards are now open, providing an additional 48 beds to support patients living with frailty, dementia and complex healthcare needs. A great deal of planning and thought has gone into developing these facilities to ensure that they are best positioned to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in a modern and supportive environment. This focus on dementia and elderly medicine is much needed, considering MK's rapidly aging population.
At Bluebird Care, we are committed to working together with the NHS and like-minded professionals to support our local community and the people who rely on health and social care.
