1st October is International Day of Older Persons and Gemma and Catherine headed to Campbell Park to join the celebrations in Milton Keynes, hosted by the Mayor, Cllr Paul Trendall, and Older Persons’ Champion, Cllr David Hopkins.
This year’s theme was “The Age of Longevity: Rethinking Systems for Longer Lives” – looking at the people, places and services that help people to stay active, independent and connected as they get older.
It was a really enjoyable afternoon, and we particularly loved the opportunity to meet some new people, make new connections and have some genuinely interesting conversations about our local community and how we can all play a part in helping people to live well and stay connected.
As a local care provider, we really value opportunities like this to get out into the community, listen, learn and connect with the people and organisations who are helping to make Milton Keynes a great place to live at every age.
A big thank you to everyone involved in organising such a worthwhile event.
