Meet our team of care professionals

Emma Richards
Business Development Manager (Senior Management)

Emma has been working in the care industry since 1997 & joined us as Senior Care Supervisor at Stafford in 2010, being promoted to care manager for Cannock in 2011.  Her nurturing style and commitment to high quality has always been central to her role.  Emma has been responsible for the high quality of care we deliver as well as managing the office and care worker teams. The opportunity arose for Emma to take on a new challenge, within Bluebird Care and in 2016 she became our Business Development Manager with her goal set to develop and grow the business, looking at our services for the future.
Emma holds many qualifications including the PTTLS training qualification &  level 5 leadership in Heath & Social Care. Emma Oversees our recruitment and is a trainer for many of our teams mandatory training subjects, accredited in; Mental Health Awareness, Equality & Diversity, GDPR, Infection Control, Food Hygiene, Nutrition & Fluids, Medication Awareness - also becoming a Mental Health 1st aider for the team. Emma always encourages care workers to enhance their personal development profiles and supports this when requested. 

Emma has a passion for personalised care and sits within an NHS Strategic Co production group (SCG) to support the implementation of this throughout the NHS. She has also become a Patient & Partner Voice (PPV) telling her stories to aid training of future leaders within the NHS.

 

Allen Vanderwyk-Coyne
Owner Director (Senior Management team)

Allen started working at Bluebird Care in 2006, Allen was one of the very first care workers employed at Bluebird Care Mid staffs. Allen has worked in the care industry since 1993 and cannot see himself working in any other field. Allen very quickly moved onto supervising, co-ordinating and other duties within the company. It became apparent that Allen's dedication and passion for Care was a great asset to Bluebird Care Mid Staffs, Allen has taught all of the management team some great skills and has always thrived when they are successful. Allen was made operations Manager by the previous owners of Bluebird Care before Allen decided to purchase the franchise when Sue and John made the tough decision to retire in 2020. Allen wanted to keep the Bluebird Care family together. 

Allen is a very hands on Franchise owner and even enjoys delivering a high standard of care to some of our customers. Allen is a train the trainer in Safeguarding adults at risk, Mental Capacity including DOLS, and Health and Safety. Allen is CQC registered. Allen has his NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Health and social care and Level 4 NVQ in management. 

 

 

Samantha Taylor
Care Manager (Senior Management)

Sam joined us as an apprentice in 2012, quickly being promoted to assistant Care Co-ordinator for Cannock   and excelled in all aspects of her role. She then got the job of Care Co-ordinator for Bluebird Care at our South Staffs office. Sam then moved back to Cannock with a new job role of Quality & Compliance Officer for the Mid Staffs and South Staffs Branches in 2016. Sam has now been promoted to Care Manager for Bluebird care Mid Staffs, Sam is now working closely with Allen and Emma to ensure we deliver a high standards of care to all of our customers and that Bluebird care continue to stay compliant in all areas. Sam's organisational strengths means quality and compliance are always at the forefront of everything that she does, meaning she delivers and expects a very high standard of care.

Sam's philosophy is "If we look after our care staff, they will look after our customers" Sam makes it her mission to ensure she has an open door policy for all care staff weather it be a work problem or personal, she is there to listen. 

Sam has completed her NVQ level 2 & 3 in Health and Social Care, Level 2 certificate in Equality & Diversity, Level 2 certificate in Understanding Autism, Level 2 certificate in Common Health Conditions, Level 3 Certificate in Management and has achieved a Higher level certificate in management. Sam has also completed her NVQ level 5 in Leadership and Management. Sam is also a train the trainer for Basic life support, People Movers, Dementia and End of life Care.   

Amy Wilson
Care Coordinator

Amy (Dot) joined us as a Care assistant in May 2017, Amy worked in domiciliary care especially enjoying working with our customers with Learning disabilities as this is a great passion of Amy’s. Amy developed her skills and knowledge quickly and it immediately became transparent that Amy had the skills we needed for the position of a care co-ordinator. In September 2018 Amy was offered the role of Care CoOrdinator and has become extremely popular with our care staff and customers. Amy has a very infectious personality and always goes above and beyond for everyone.  Amy has NVQ levels 2, 3 and 5.

Rachel Parry
Field Care Supervisor

Rachel started Bluebird Care in March 2019 as a care assistant. Rachel was very reliable and eager to progress her career, Rachel applied for a Field Care supervisor role in September 2021 and was successful. 

Rachel supports all of our care staff and customers with every day needs. She completes customer reviews, new consultations, care worker supervisions, competency checks and other duties that are needed within the business. Rachel also delivers a high standards of care when needed. Rachel has a bright personality and a can do attitude, Rachel loves a new challenge and believes that every day is an opportunity to learn. Rachel enjoys working with a customer who has numerous of complex conditions such as Bipolar, autism and PTSD, Rachel is her sole care worker and takes this responsibility seriously.

Rachel has achieved her care certificate and has a BTEC Health and Social Care level 2. Rachel is currently awaiting sign up to her level 5 leadership and management qualification. 

Lee Aylett
Field care supervisor

Lee started working for Bluebird Mid Staffs in November 2018 as a care worker, Lee supported a customer with a rehabilitation care package due to an acquired brain injury and a customer with a learning disability. Lee came to us with a background in hospitality management and this helped Lee to quickly progress into a team leader. 

Lee then applied for a Field Care supervisor role in October 2021 and was successful. Lee supports all of our care staff and customers with every day needs. He completes customer reviews, new consultations, care worker supervisions, competency checks and other duties that are needed within the business. Lee also delivers a high standards of care when needed. Lee is very satisfied when he completes a task and does not like to leave anything outstanding. Lee also has a very can do attitude and nothing is too much trouble for him. 

Lee became a huge asset when we decided to introduce out new paperless way of working, Lee made it his mission to learn new ways of working and quickly became our go to person for 'one touch'. Due to this Lee has recently taken over as our secondment Care coordinator covering for maternity leave, Lee has learnt quickly and his confidence is forever growing in this role. 

Lee has his Care certificate, Level 3 in Leadership and management and is currently signed up to his Level 5 in Leadership and management.
