A staggering five awards at the Essex Care Sector Awards....

Home care provider Bluebird Care Mid Essex, Essex West, and Southend & Rochford have taken home a staggering five awards at the Essex Care Sector Awards, known as the Prosper Awards, in recognition of the exceptional care they deliver to their customers in the comfort of their own homes.

Organised by Essex County Council, the awards celebrate excellence across the care sector in the area by recognising individuals and teams who go above and beyond.

Bluebird Care Mid Essex, Essex West, and Southend & Rochford were named winners of no less than five awards in two categories at the historic venue of Cressing Temple Barns on Friday 8th July 2022.

The home care provider found success in the ‘Outstanding Carer’ and ‘Making a Difference’ categories, with Care Assistant Gaby Kershaw winning the Outstanding Carer award outright, and team members from the Essex-based care provider also scooping Highly Commended and Commended recognition across both categories.

Despite the challenging period for the care sector, the already award-winning home care provider has continued to go from strength to strength over the last 12 months. The home care provider has continued to deliver quality home care support to their customers while also launching industry-leading initiatives throughout the UK.

On the night, Gaby Kershaw, Care Assistant at Bluebird Care Essex West, took home the ‘Outstanding Carer’ award, with judges saying that she “goes above and beyond on so many levels, she shows dedication to the role and takes the time to make sure people are ok. A really outstanding nomination.”

Reflecting on the win, Gaby said that she was “filled with immense joy to receive this recognition, caring for me comes as second nature!”

Grace Morgan - Southend & Rochford Home Care Assistant

Grace Morgan also found success on the night after scooping the Highly Commended award for the same category.

The judges said that, although new to social care, she has demonstrated “innovation and outstanding contribution” adding that she is “a role model for the younger generation.”
