Bluebird Care Mid and West Cornwall host a fun-filled-fete style day to raise money for a much needed piece of equipment.

On Saturday 7th April, many members of the local community, including Bluebird carers and nurses from Carnon Downs and Chacewater gathered in the Carnon Downs Village Hall to raise money for vital equipment needed by the local community nurses. Many stalls were present, run by Bluebird Care staff, such as a raffle, pin the tail on the bluebird and a cake competition, won by Caroline Sommerville with an impressive and very professional looking chocolate cake.Teas, coffees and homemade cakes were served too and enjoyed by those who were present to support the cause. The fundraiser on Saturday, along with the money raised from the Sponsored Walk on 4th March and donations, raised enough to reach the target that was set to provide funds for the community nurses to purchase another syringe driver, an incredibly useful and beneficial piece of equipment. The day was enjoyed in memory and honour of Jackie Rowse, who was able to enjoy some comfort in her last few precious weeks as a result of this piece of equipment.

A massive thank you to everyone who has donated their time and money to this wonderfulcause and to all those who helped and supported the fundraiser on Saturday, thanks to all of you, others will now be able to benefit from the use of this equipment.
