Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall attends HR & Training Management Conference
Sarah, our Recruitment & Publicity Manager, & Rachel, our Complex Care Manager and Training Manager, recently attended the HR & Training Management Conference at The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
Hosted by Truro and Penwith College, the event brought together professionals from across Cornwall to discuss leadership, recruitment, training, workplace culture and the future of people development.
For Sarah and Rachel, it was a valuable opportunity to spend time with others who are passionate about supporting people well at work. The day included thoughtful conversations around what makes a strong workplace culture, how organisations can live their values day to day, and why ongoing learning and development matter.
One of the key messages from the conference was that good workplace culture is built through everyday actions. It is shaped by how people are listened to, supported, encouraged and trusted.
This is something that matters deeply to us at Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall. Our team plays such an important role in the lives of our customers and their families, so making sure they feel valued, confident and supported is a vital part of what we do.
The conference also gave Sarah and Rachel the chance to reflect on recruitment and training from a wider perspective. As a home care provider, we know that attracting the right people, helping them grow, and supporting them throughout their role all contribute to the quality of care our customers receive at home.
A highlight of the day was hearing from keynote speaker Nick Hewer, who shared stories from his time working alongside Sir Alan Sugar. His reflections on teamwork, leadership and workplace culture brought humour, warmth and plenty for delegates to think about.
We would like to thank Truro and Penwith College, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and everyone involved in organising such a worthwhile event.
Sarah and Rachel came away with plenty to reflect on and share with the wider Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall team, as we continue to learn, grow and support the people who make our care possible.
