Why Connecting Through Care is launching

Care across Cornwall is supported by so many dedicated people and organisations. Every day, individuals and teams are working hard to support older people, adults, children, families and communities.

But care can also feel busy, pressured and, at times, quite isolated.

Many people working in and around care are facing similar challenges, asking similar questions and sharing the same commitment to helping others. Yet there are not always enough opportunities to come together, talk openly, build relationships and learn from one another.

Connecting Through Care has been created to help change that.

The aim is to provide a regular space where people across Cornwall’s care community can meet face to face, make useful connections, share ideas, offer support and strengthen local relationships.

A networking group with support at its heart

This is a networking group, but it is not about hard selling or simply exchanging business cards.

It is about people.

It is about creating a safe, positive and welcoming space where those involved in care can:

  • Meet others working across the care community
  • Build meaningful local relationships
  • Share knowledge, ideas and experiences
  • Find out what other services and organisations are doing
  • Signpost support more confidently
  • Work together more closely for the benefit of people across Cornwall

When people in care feel more connected, the wider community benefits too. Stronger relationships between care providers, health professionals, community groups, charities and support services can help make it easier for people to find the right support, at the right time.

Who is welcome?

Connecting Through Care is open to anyone involved in care across Cornwall.

This may include:

  • Care providers
  • Care assistants and care teams
  • Healthcare professionals
  • Community organisations
  • Charities
  • Trainers
  • Recruiters
  • Family support services
  • Volunteers
  • Local services that support people in care
  • Anyone working alongside or supporting the care sector

Whether you are part of a large organisation, a small local service, a charity, a community group, or you work directly with people receiving care, you are very welcome.

Help us grow the network

If you know someone who works in care, supports people in the community, runs a local service, works with families, trains care teams, recruits in the sector, or plays any part in supporting people across Cornwall, please feel free to share Connecting Through Care with them.

This network has been created to offer value to the wider care community, and the more people who are part of the conversation, the more useful and supportive it can become.

Connecting Through Care is here to bring Cornwall’s care community together — to connect, share, support and grow.
