My family and I are very grateful indeed for all the care and support you are providing for our cousin.
You have been a fantastic help. It is such a relief to know that there is someone local to our cousin who can help us bring together an ongoing plan.
When I was set to have care workers to help re-enable me after an accident, I was very anxious. This is because I have worked in care and assumed I may get what I have seen for 10 years.
However, every single staff member I have met, not only have they followed the job description of helping me physically with things from personal care, housework and shopping... They have been empowering me. This goes beyond the job description and is done through choice. The carers I have had have chosen to listen to me and have chosen to help me see more positive perspectives.
3 months ago, I couldn’t really eat. Now I am able to eat most days. But not just because they cook for me, because they have empowered me and educated me on alternative foods I can have.
