Civic Awards 2014

On the night of the 24 April 2014 we celebrated Merton’s finest and brightest at the fabulous Wimbledon Studios.The night was hosted by Nick Hitchens from the Wimbledon Guardian. One member of the audience said:"Was full of energy and excitement, truly a night to remember."  Amongst the wonderful ambiance and fine food, we had the pleasure of awarding Patricia Brookman, The Parent/Carer of the Year Award 2014, with Yasmin Bakh being Highly Commended. The work that both candidates do within their community is remarkable and in our eyes all the applicants are winners!The overall winner of the Mayor of Merton’s Award was presented by Cllr Krystal Miller, Mayor of Merton.Jay Said:"Judging this category was one of the hardest I have come across yet, there were so many exceptional candidates and I'm glad I got to hear what lovely, hardworking and caring people we having within our community."Pictured we have Award winning Patricia Brookman with our Care Supervisor, Pearl Whipp.

Bluebird Care supported local talent at the KNK stadium, Mitcham

The Family fun filled festival had a number of exciting activities such as workshops, a football tournament a health and beauty hub and a mini car boot sale.The event was also hosted by Radio Jackie radio!! In addition, Carers Support Merton held a ‘CARERS GOT TALENT’ event, where anything goes…..Singing, dancing, magic acts, playing an instrument etc.Bluebird Care took this opportunity to support local talent and donated some amazing prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd.1st Prize Tickets for a family of four to a theme park2nd Prize Dinner for four at a Harvester restaurant3rd Prize Hamper of Retro Sweets

Last year, Bluebird Care played a small part in helping the Wimbledon Guild Raise £27,000

This Year we are also playing our part by sponsoring the heart of the festival, Wimbledon Guild Zone.The Fair will also be visited by The Mayor of Merton, Krystal Miller, Chairman of The Wimbledon Guild, Sue Cooke and Chief Executive Wendy Pridmore who officially opened the festivities. Visitors enjoyed over 200 stalls and attractions as well as non-stop entertainment on the main stage from schools, dance clubs and local bands. New attractions included a bubbly Champagne tent, energetic Zumba workshops for children and a fun celebrity photo-booth from Wimbledon Studios.

Doing Something Funny for Comic Relief

Compliments of Darling MagazineBluebird Care (Merton) and The Merton Chamber of Commerce joined forces to raise over £500 for Charity!  Jay Patel said,"It was a pleasure to contribute towards such a good cause and I would like to thank everyone who was involved as well as everyone who donated money to help us take part raise money for Comic Relief."

Celebrating Our Official Opening!

Bluebird Care celebrates its official opening with The Mayor of Merton, Councillor David Williams and his mother the Mayoress, Mrs Gill Williams. Also attended were Councillors Logie Lohendran, Nick Draper and John Dehaney. The event was also celebrated with a live dance performance from South London Music and Cultural Group. Councillor David Williams said that he enjoyed the event and welcomes Bluebird Care as a quality care at home provider.
