May marks a month-long celebration of Local and Community History, which this year is being supported by Bluebird Care Merton.

The month aims to encourage education and promote awareness of history, heritage and all those special landmarks in the local community. It also aims to inspire the whole community to get involved in outdoor activities, at a safe social distance.

Despite the coronavirus and social distancing guidelines, you can still educate yourself about your local history online! Or during your daily exercise, if you happen to past by a monument, a statue or local heritage place, why not snap up a photo and send it to us!

Jay Patel, Director of Bluebird Care Merton, commented:

“We should celebrate our local area and community where so much has happened throughout the ages.

Do you have any photos or postcards of historic local places? Email us with a picture, we’d love to see it and share it with our Bluebird Care Merton online community”.
