“I find generally that all the girls will go the extra mile and do more than asked such as changing the bedding weekly which I struggle with or even extra cleaning around the house which I appreciate immensely.”

Flowers, friendship and thoughtful moments

Sometimes, it is the smallest gestures that stay with you. On her birthday, one of her regular carers arrived with her favourite flowers. It was a simple gesture, but one that meant a great deal.

“I can also remember my birthday just gone where one of my regular carers bought me my favourite flowers which was a very kind and thoughtful gesture.”

Over time, the carers have become much more than people who visit to provide care. Their company has become an important part of her routine, particularly because she lives alone.

“I find these relationships extremely important as most days they are the only people I see.”
