Bluebird Care Mid Essex, organised a themed beach party for our customers, staff and their families!

After what seemed the longest, most isolated and hardest year, Bluebird Care Mid Essex was finally able to invite their customers, staff and their families for a well-deserved, fun filled afternoon tea party, which was beach themed, the idea was to bring the seaside inside!

At Danbury Sports & Social Club, 16 tables were set up to host 100 guests, filled with sandwiches, cakes, biscuits and beach themed decorations. The event started at 2pm with a welcome from our Manager Julia Mills followed by songs that were played from the era of the greats, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day and Vera Lynn, whilst eating their afternoon tea with a cuppa.

With a quick 1st half of our free raffle draw, we moved onto bingo! Each player played a for a line and then a full house, with a few false claims, there was a lot of laughter and prizes to be awarded.

Bluebird Care Mid Essex had organised for a local ice-cream van to pay a visit to our event and serve free ice-cream to everyone, this was such a lovely surprise as many hadn’t had a ‘99’ in years!

We also had a birthday celebration for one of our customers, Lynne from Maldon, Bluebird Care Mid Essex had gifted a beautiful bouquet of flowers along with a chorus of Happy Birthday!

The 2nd half of the raffle was followed by a sing-along! A large, printed list of songs was handed out to everyone, we all sang ‘We all like to be beside the seaside’, We’re all going on a summer holiday’, and ‘If you are happy and you know it! Everyone sang their hearts out, lots of laughter and big happy smiles all round, we even had customers get up and dance.

To bring the event to a close, Julia gave a speech to our amazing office managers for organising the transportation of some our customers, ones that would not have made the party if wasn’t for them, and for always going above and beyond their call of duty, Angela Golshan and Tracy Poulson were presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers each. Julia then thanked everyone for coming, here’s to our next event at Christmas
