Home care in Danbury

Home care in Danbury from local Care Experts

It's good to be home. If your mum or dad lives in Danbury and needs more help at home, you may be wondering where to start. Our Maldon team supports older people in Danbury and the villages around it, so they can stay in the home they love.

Most of the families who call us are sons and daughters arranging care for a parent. Many are juggling work and children, and some live miles away. We'll talk it through with you and help you choose what fits. Bluebird Care Essex and Redbridge has been established for 17 years.

What we offer in Danbury

  • Visiting home care. Visits of 30, 45 or 60 minutes, from help getting up in the morning to a settled bedtime.
  • Live-in care. A Care Expert lives in your parent's home and gives support through the day.
  • Dementia care. Calm, familiar routines that help your parent feel safe at home.
  • Companionship. Time for a chat, a walk or a trip out.
  • Respite. Cover while you take a break.
  • Long sits. Several hours of company and support in one go.
  • Waking nights and sleeping nights. Someone in the house overnight, awake or on call.

Many of our customers have two or three one-hour visits a day, seven days a week. You can start smaller and add more as needs change.

Our promises

We arrive when we say we will. We stay for the full visit. And before we leave, we always ask, "Is there anything else?" That might mean a cup of tea, a sit-down chat or bringing in the washing.

How it works

  1. Free home visit. We come to your parent's home in Danbury to talk about what they need and what matters to them. You're welcome to be there.
  2. Care plan. We write a care plan with your parent and with you, built around their routines.
  3. Meet your Care Experts. We introduce your parent to the Care Experts who will be visiting.
  4. Regular reviews. We check in and update the plan as things change.

Home care in Danbury and nearby

Danbury sits on a hill on the A414, with Chelmsford to the west and Maldon to the east. Our Maldon team covers Danbury along with Maldon, Burnham-on-Crouch, Southminster, Mayland and the Dengie.

A companionship visit can include an outing. Danbury Country Park, run by Essex County Council, has three historic lakes, level paths, plenty of seats and accessible toilets. Danbury Commons and Blakes Wood, cared for by the National Trust, are lovely heath and ancient woodland, though the paths are steep in places and there are no facilities, so they suit a short visit.

If your parent is coming home from Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, we can talk with you about care to help them settle back in.

Families who look after someone at home can get help from Carers First, which supports people across Chelmsford and Maldon (0300 303 1555). The Alzheimer's Society runs a dementia café at Carmelite House Library in Maldon on the first Thursday of the month. Check with Alzheimer's Society before you go.
