Customers Reunited At Our Customer Tea & Chat Event With Age UK!

Recently, we joines Age UK Maidstone's Exercise And Socialise group for a cup of tea, slice of cake and chat.
We regularly hold events for our customers and as well as having strong links with community organisations, we strive to play our part in making a difference to the lives of local residents.
Recently, we teamed up with Age UK Maidstone's Exercise And Socialise group to join for a cup of tea, slice of cake and chat.
We first connected with the group when presenting a Community Grant of £500 in 2017 which prevented its closure and provided the funding to help it become self-sufficient.
Our customers who joined, had an excellent time and are hoping to return on a regular basis. In addition, two customers who met at the event found out that they had been neighbours for many years, however had lost contact and become reunited!
These customers used to regularly telephone each other and enjoyed BBQs together years ago. They spent their time planning how they would be keeping in touch and spending time together over the coming weeks!
Care Manager Mel commented:
I was delighted with how this event went! It was very relaxed and there was a lot of enjoyable conversation. For so many of our customers, the only people that they see during the day are their Care Assistants and this makes our customer events all the more important. As well as having an excellent time, it was lovely to see two Carole & Janet reunite after so long!

I would like to thank Bluebird Care for joining us this week and bringing some fantastic cakes which really went down a treat! We are proud to be linked in this way to Bluebird Care and the members of our Exercise And Socialise Group really enjoy it when representatives visit to join us. We are now looking forward to hopefully partnering with some similar events in the months to come!
