As a community care provider, our aim to support does not extend to just extend just to our customers. Our goal is to be of support to everyone in our community and one way that we do this is by providing tips and advice. We are therefore launching our winter #KeepWarmKeepWell campaign to remind our community about the importance of remaining safe during the winter months.

Our #KeepWarmKeepWell campaign will include valuable tips, advice and weather updates as we edge all the more into the colder months.

With snow on the horizon and the summer heatwave already a distant memory, meteorologists are reporting that this is set to be one of the coldest winters in around ten years, so these tips could prove more than useful.

If you yourself are vulnerable, or if you know anyone that may be, then please advise them to take on board the below words of advice:
  • Get the Flu Jab!
  • Keep one room warm at a time
  • Have plenty of hot drinks
  • Make sure you layer up!
  • Keep a good supply of food at home
Care Manager Mel spoke out about vulnerable people in winter time:
A lot of people don’t realise actually how dangerous the cold weather can be to the older members of our society and we all have a part to plan in making sure they remain safe throughout the colder months.

We will be doing extra checks with our more vulnerable customers and our care staff will be ensuring that they have taken the right precautions.

Please, if you have a vulnerable neighbour, go and check on them to make sure they have something warm to eat give them the recommended tips!
