It's The Time Of Year To Spread Festive Cheer!

As the festive season begins, our goal is to spread festive cheer and we recently arranged to take a group of customers out for a Christmassy treat at a local hotel. Along with 13 customers and a number of staff, we met at the Hilton Hotel in Maidstone for Christmas afternoon tea.

As the festive season begins, our goal is to spread festive cheer and we recently arranged to take a group of customers out for a Christmassy treat at a local hotel.

Along with 13 customers and a number of staff, we met at the Hilton Hotel in Maidstone for Christmas afternoon tea.



This is the last of several free events for our customers this year and something that has not only helped customers to get out and about, but also helped generate some new friendships.

The group tucked into some delicious sandwiches, scones, cakes and enjoyed a hot drink. For those who were unable to attend without support, we arranged transport and either their Care Assistant or a member of office staff collected them.



Our free events are extremely important because they create the opportunity for customers to do something a little different and enjoy themselves with a special treat.

Customer Ron thoroughly enjoyed the event and said:
Because of my eyesight I don't really manage to get out and about very easily, so going to the afternoon tea was really lovely.

It gave me the opportunity to treat myself and I spent a long time chatting with one customer about out military experiences (of which, we had a lot in common!).

I was only able to get along to the event because transport was provided and I am so pleased that it was as I had a lovely time!
Care Manager Mel explained:
Our customer events are something that customers very much look forward to and really enjoy.

Particularly over the Christmas period, social isolation is something that is all too common and whilst many of our customers have family who are involved in their day to day life, there are some who do not meaning that the support we provide is all the more important.

Holding these events for our customers is probably one of the most enjoyable bits of my role at Bluebird Care and I would like to take this opportunity to wish our community a very Merry Christmas!
