Bluebird Care Macclesfield has enjoyed a great relationship with local business ‘The Effective Directories’ for the past 9 years, advertising our services to the community via Andrea Sheardown’s publications in Congleton, Sandbach, Holmes Chapel, Goostrey and Alsager. Having had a difficult time over the past year with challenging health issues, Andrea let us know what she’s been dealing with:For the past 10 months I have been battling a very rare form of bile duct cancer. It was diagnosed last October and involved me having major liver surgery in November, followed by 6 months’ intensive chemotherapy. Somehow I have continued to run my business as normal and look after my 3 young children and still manage to smile!
This cancer is known as a silent killer as it isn’t detectable in routine bloods and normally, when it is diagnosed, it is too late for any form of treatment. I have defied the odds so far in being able to have surgery but my future is still very uncertain as this type of cancer is so aggressive in nature.”
Andrea is helping raise some much needed funds and awareness for the AMMF Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer charity by climbing mount Snowdon with friends and family on November 26th 2016. Despite an aversion to heights, and this being the first time Andrea has been able to exercise in almost a year since her diagnosis, she is determined to complete the climb in support of a charity that has greatly helped her through some extremely challenging months.
