For the seventh consecutive year we are absolutely delighted and proud to offer our sponsorship support to Older People’s Day celebrations. We have always been a friend to the South Cheshire Pensioner’s Association (SCPA) and annually join forces with them on this special day which recognises the rich contribution that older members of our community make.

From a small start 7 years ago with around only 30 attendees to the first event, this year saw 200 guests join the celebrations at the Carlsberg suite of the Crewe Alexandra stadium on October 2nd.

A great opportunity to dance, laugh, sing and celebrate age was afforded the group by this year’s entertainers; The Funky Choir and Warrington songstress LeeAnn James. With the Mayor of Cheshire East in attendance, it was also great to see Laura Smith MP lending her support together with Cllrs Dorothy Flude and Olivia Hunter.
SCPA secretary Hugh Emerson, who works tirelessly each year to being the event together, described the day as “the best we’ve had!” It’s so uplifting to us at Bluebird Care Cheshire East to hear that, and to see the event grow year-on year to reach more of our wonderful older people.

Deputy Manager Jaqlyn Mellor and Supervisor Samantha Foster helped serve the now traditional cream tea to all, and Jaqlyn’s grandmother Ivy thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon! (pictured).
We look forward to supporting SCPA again next year in this most important event!
