We have built a beautiful relationship with the Memory Cafe in Kirkham. Liz and Louise have worked so hard to put together a perfect offering for people with dementia and their carers. Every moment is carefully thought through and everyone feels included.
Our Finance Director David is also a part-time oral historian and last year led an English Heritage project looking into the "landladies" stereotype of Northern seaside towns. In return for some delicious home made cake, David ran a reminiscence session for the Memory Cafe audience on the landladies of Morecambe and Blackpool and what they were really like. Included in his presentation were hilarious and heartwarming videos of people and their memories - including playwright Alan Bennet, who's family holidayed in Morecambe every year. But there was plenty of audience participation as cafe goers recounted their memories, including Linda and Margaret who themselves had been landladies in Blackpool!

It turned out to be a real feel-good event.
