From our Registered Care Manager to our Care Supervisors in the community, every member of the team is committed to the same goal: providing care that makes a real and lasting difference. We're proud to introduce you to some of the people who make that possible.

Shannon Dandy, Registered Care Manager

Shannon leads both the Lincoln & South Lincolnshire and NE Lincolnshire & West Lindsey teams with passion, experience and an unwavering commitment to the people in her care. With 13 years of experience in the care sector, she brings a depth of knowledge and a genuine love for the work that sets the tone for everything her teams do. Shannon joined Bluebird Care in 2021 as a Care Coordinator and quickly made her mark, progressing to Registered Care Manager in May 2025, a journey that reflects both her dedication and the trust the organisation has placed in her. In her role, Shannon is responsible for the overall quality, safety and compliance of care across both franchises, working closely with her management teams to ensure every customer receives the premium, person-centred care they deserve. Shannon is just as passionate about supporting her care teams as she is about the customers they look after. She believes that when staff feel valued and well-supported, that care flows naturally through to the people they visit every day. Outside of work, Shannon keeps active at the gym and leads a healthy lifestyle. She also runs a creative side business in balloon décor and event styling, a world away from care, but one that showcases her energy and eye for detail. Above all, she loves spending time with family and friends.

Rachel Kemp, Deputy Care Manager

Rachel has been part of the Bluebird Care family for six years, and in that time, she has grown through several roles within the organisation to become the Deputy Care Manager supporting both the Lincoln & South Lincolnshire and NE Lincolnshire & West Lindsey teams. Her journey is a testament to what commitment, compassion and a genuine desire to grow can achieve. Rachel has a particular passion for dementia care, an area that demands not only technical knowledge but real empathy, patience and understanding. She brings all three in abundance. For Rachel, every interaction with a customer is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference to their day, and she carries that philosophy into everything she does. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys curling up with a good book and spending quality time with family and friends.

Megan Litherland, Recruiter

Megan's story at Bluebird Care is one of the best examples of what can be achieved when talent is nurtured from the very beginning. She joined the organisation four years ago as an apprentice, learning the business from the ground up, and has since progressed through a number of roles before finding her natural home in recruitment. In her role as Recruiter, Megan plays a vital part in building and sustaining the care teams that make Bluebird Care what it is. She understands that finding the right person isn't just about skills and experience, it's about values, character and the genuine desire to make a difference in people's lives. Getting that right matters enormously to Megan, and it shows in the quality of the people she brings on board. When she's not building the team, Megan can usually be found watching crime documentaries or catching up on EastEnders, she'll happily tell you that Phil Mitchell is television's greatest character, and she'll defend that opinion enthusiastically.

Tracy Metcalfe, Care Supervisor

Tracy is, quite simply, one of the most experienced members of the Bluebird Care family. With 33 years in the care sector and a decade of those with Bluebird Care, she brings a breadth of knowledge and a depth of compassion that is truly rare, and that the whole team benefits from every single day. Tracy has a particular passion for palliative care, supporting customers and their families through some of the most challenging and tender moments of life. It is demanding, emotionally significant work, and Tracy approaches it with the warmth, sensitivity and professionalism it requires. For the families she works alongside, her presence is a genuine source of comfort. Tracy's approach is as supportive as it is knowledgeable. She is widely known for her friendly, approachable manner, the kind of person who makes everyone around her feel at ease, whether that's a customer, a family member, or a newer member of the care team. A naturally sociable person, Tracy loves spending time with family and friends, and enjoys nothing more than an evening out at a live music event.

Samantha Carter, Care Supervisor

Samantha brings six years of care experience and a warmth that is immediately apparent to everyone she works with. Having worked across a variety of care roles, she has developed a well-rounded understanding of what outstanding, person-centred care looks like in practice, and she holds herself to that standard every day. As Care Supervisor for South Lincolnshire, Samantha supports both the customers in her area and the care staff who visit them, ensuring consistency, quality and the kind of personal attention that makes the difference between good care and genuinely great care. Away from work, Samantha is a proud homebird who loves the comfort of home, and if there's a Disney film or a Harry Potter marathon on, so much the better.

Amanda Broughton, Care Supervisor

Amanda has spent 16 years in the care sector, with experience spanning both residential care homes and domiciliary care. That breadth of background gives her an instinctive understanding of the full spectrum of care, and of what individuals truly need to feel safe, supported and valued in their own homes. Having joined Bluebird Care three years ago, Amanda has brought that experience to bear as Care Supervisor for the Lincoln and Sleaford area. She holds a Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care, reflecting both her professional commitment and her drive to keep growing. Amanda is naturally curious, always keen to learn more, to ask questions, and to find better ways of doing things. It is a quality that keeps her practice sharp and her team inspired. Outside of work, Amanda is a devoted cat lover with several feline companions at home. She also enjoys watching Friends, which she has seen enough times to know every episode by heart, and spending time with the people she cares about.
