At Bluebird Care Lewes District, Brighton & Hove we believe that care matters and we are committed to providing the highest quality home care so that our customers can remain in their own homes.

Bluebird Care (Lewes District, Brighton & Hove) is a leading home care and live-in care provider with a largely private customer base, looking after customers across the Lewes District area and the City of Brighton & Hove.

Michelle & Gary Johnson started the Lewes District office in July 2011 with Michelle’s parents as the Company’s first customers. The couple have lived in Sussex for over 30 years and have raised their family in the County and are honoured to be able to serve the community providing community, home based care.

In July 2017, the couple bought the neighbouring Bluebird Care (Brighton & Hove) territory and have worked hard to amalgamate the two offices and carer teams. Now employing in excess of 100 local people who provide care to around 170 people in the community, the Company prides itself on having a personal touch and ‘keeping it very local’! Michelle & Gary are supported by an amazing team of carers and office staff who together are very proud to be able to keep people living safely in the comfort of their own homes.

In their spare time, the couple enjoy good company, great music and film and lots of laughter! Gary also a serves as a navigator for the RNLI and is an active part of the Newhaven Lifeboat crew.

The Bluebird Care in the Lewes District operation is managed from our lead office on Denton Island, Newhaven, BN9 9BB. Our care provision extends inland from the Channel coast, over the South Downs and into the Sussex Weald covering 292 square kilometres. We deliver homecare and support services to the main towns of Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven & Telscombe and Lewes. We also cover the more rural villages such as Telscombe, Denton, Kingston, Piddinghoe, Rodmell, South Heighton, Ditchling, Plumpton Green, Chailey, South Chailey, Newick, and Cooksbridge. In addition, this office supports the residents of Saltdean, Rottingdean and Ovingdean.

Our Brighton & Hove and live-in operation is managed through our satellite office in Hove, 98 Boundary Road, Hove BN3 7GB. Our Hove office serves all residents of the whole of Brighton & Hove city area from Portslade to Mile Oak, Hangleton, Patcham, Kemp Town, Woodingdean and everywhere in between.

Nationally, Bluebird Care UK first opened its doors in 2004 as a small family business dedicated to providing high quality homecare services. We have now grown into a leading care at home provider, delivering around 20,000 visits each day right across the country. Our commitment to delivering the services you want, how you want them, in the comfort of your own home is stronger now than ever. We continue to be registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and as such all our care assistance are employed by us and have the same ethos to provide exemplary care to the local community.   

            

I can't praise Bluebird enough for their care of my Mum (and keeping an eye on my Dad too!). It has been such a relief during COVID to know that they are being looked after and checked on during the course of the day. Bluebird also supports me by keeping me informed if they have any worries or concerns, especially given COVID I went from seeing my parents every week to not being able to visit them until just recently.


Being in their late 90's my parents are adamant that they want to stay in their own home and being 2hrs away from me, Bluebird has provided the means to make that happen. The carers are so kind and considerate and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. Also, Bluebird gives me the ability to change the care package as my parents' needs change, thereby keeping them safe, looked after and happy.


Bluebird provides an amazing level of care and I would like to thank all of the staff for the brilliant job they do.
