Bluebird Care (Leeds North) is supporting this year’s Self Care Week which runs from 13-19th November and is organised by the Self Care Forum.

The Self Care Forum is a UK organisation formed in 2011, with the aim of embedding self-care into everyday life. With people living longer, more needs to be done to support individuals across Horsforth, Calverley, Rodley, Rawdon, Yeadon, Guiseley, Otley, Pudsey, Bramley, Stanningley, Farsley, Tinshill, Cookridge, Holt Park, West Park, Weetwood, Headingley, Kirkstall, Alwoodley, Meanwood, Chapel Alerton, Roundhay, Moortown, Shadwell, Whinmoor, Thorner, Collingham, Wetherby and all surrounding Villages and Hamlets in looking after their own health as well as reducing the pressures on local health services. The Self Care Forum offers support to individuals in taking better care of their health and is a resource to NHS organisations, local authorities and those within the voluntary sector.

Self Care Week is an annual awareness week to encourage support for self care across communities, with this year’s theme focusing on Embracing Self Care for Life. The weeklong event aims to engage and empower individuals to take care of themselves and in turn improve their understanding of self-care for life.

David Brown, director of Bluebird Care (Leeds North), said:

We are delighted to be supporting Self Care Week and we are encouraging our local community to keep fit and healthy. By empowering and engaging individuals to take good care of themselves, we hope to increase understanding of self care in our local area, as well as ease pressures on our local health services.
