On Sunday 4 August 2013, we had the pleasure of attending the North Leeds Bowling Club Annual ‘Over 90’s Competition’ and presented prizes to the 12 competitors ranging in age from 91 to 101, representing bowling clubs from across Leeds.
The weather was fine and a crowd of over 100 enthusiastic supporters enjoyed homemade cakes and tea while they watched some outstanding bowling. The winner this year was Eric Bedford from NLBC.
This was a wonderful example of how keeping physically and socially active can help people maintain their independence.
