Award Winning Care, Delivered With Care
Celebrating Our Second Quality Award
We’re delighted to have received the Quality Award for the second time, recognising the care delivered by our Bluebird Care teams across Leeds North and Harrogate.

Announcing the award, our franchisor said:
For impeccable standards, obsessive attention to detail and premium care that never slips, with audit scores to be proud of. Congratulations Sheree.
This follows another proud moment earlier this year, when our Registered Manager, Sophie Bellwood, received the Registered Manager of the Year Award at the National Social Care Star Awards.
For families choosing care, these achievements offer reassurance. Behind them is a team committed to helping people stay happy, healthy and safe in the home they love.

High standards, consistently maintained
Every year, both services undergo a comprehensive care audit through the Bluebird Care Way, our approach to delivering premium care. This covers all CQC regulatory standards and goes further than these checking to ensure that services are run in the ‘Bluebird Care Way’, examining how we deliver, manage and develop our services.
Gold Standards, Every Year
Both Leeds North and Harrogate have achieved Gold, the highest possible audit rating, every single year they have been audited.
A strong audit result matters. But maintaining those standards throughout the year takes much more than preparing for an inspection. It takes meticulous attention to compliance, thoughtful leadership and colleagues who take responsibility for getting things right.
Most importantly, it means understanding that people’s needs can change.
Someone may become less steady on their feet, lose someone close to them or need additional support after a hospital stay. Our team looks ahead, notices changes and finds practical solutions, working with families and health professionals where needed.
That means being ready to respond while protecting the routines, choices and independence that make life at home feel like their own.
Knowing What Matters to Each Person
Good care is about more than completing tasks. It’s about knowing the person and understanding what matters to them.
One customer living with dementia had always enjoyed fish and chips with a close friend every Thursday. When her friend sadly passed away, our team recognised how important that familiar routine still was. As she preferred to stay at home and couldn’t manage online payments, our office team found a practical solution so her live-in carer could continue helping her enjoy her Thursday meal.
For another customer living with dementia, mowing the lawn had always been part of his routine. As it became less safe for him to do alone, his carer stayed alongside him, allowing him to continue with something he enjoyed. His daughters told us how heartwarming it was to see their dad doing something so familiar.
These examples from our Leeds North care team show how person-centred dementia care can help people maintain their routines, independence and quality of life at home.
Caring for our team, too
Delivering this level of care takes skill, confidence and support.
Our Care Experts receive training beyond mandatory requirements, with additional learning shaped around the individual needs of the people they support.
Regular supervision and practical competency checks help our teams feel prepared, while accessible managers provide someone to turn to when circumstances change.
We also believe that colleagues should feel listened to, valued and able to share their ideas. Often, the person providing care is the first to notice a change or spot a better way to help. Their judgement and insight matter.
In our Leeds North 2026 People Survey, 100% of respondents said their wellbeing was supported, their contribution was recognised and they were treated with dignity and respect by colleagues.
Supporting our teams is an important part of maintaining the quality of care we provide.
Quality of care is my absolute calling in life
After more than 30 years in care, I know how much trust families place in us. You want to know that someone will treat your loved one kindly, notice when something changes and do something about it. Quality of care is my absolute calling in life. I won’t settle for average care. I want us to keep questioning, keep learning and keep paying attention, even to the things that might seem small. I’m proud of our audit results because I understand the intense work behind them. But what matters most is carrying those standards into every day. Being prepared. Keeping people safe. Finding a solution when someone’s needs change, so they can continue living as happily and independently as possible. That takes a team who think ahead and care enough to act. It also takes an organisation that looks after them, listens to them and gives them the support to do their job well. To receive this award for the second time, following Sophie’s national award, means a great deal. To Sophie and our teams across Leeds and Harrogate, thank you. I see how much you put into this, and I’m incredibly proud of you all.

Let’s talk about someone you love
Your first step can simply be a conversation
Perhaps you’ve noticed everyday things becoming harder for your mum or dad. You may be worried about their safety, or wondering how to introduce support without taking away their independence. You don’t need to have everything worked out before you call. Tell us about them, what matters to them and what’s worrying you. We’ll listen and explain how we may be able to help, from regular care visits to live in support.
