Bluebird Care Lancaster & South Lakeland take part in Cancer Research "Race for Life"

Bluebird Care Lancaster & South Lakeland helped to raise funds for Cancer Research on Sunday 26th July.  The 5k "Race for Life" event was held at Lancaster University.

This was the first time for all of us to do Race4Life and what a great experience it was: so many women of all shapes and sizes, many of whom have been personally affected by cancer, coming together and pushing themselves to achieve.  It was a real festival atmosphere, with music, dancing and a course lined almost the whole way with supporters.  It felt so special to be a participant and it was a great activity for the Bluebird Care Team to do together.  The event was especially meaningful for Amanda and Gemma, whose mum has gone through breast cancer and survived, and Amanda was our top scorer in sponsorship money.

Thanks so much to Holly whose idea it was that we put a team in and to Amanda who organised things so that we all actually made it to the start line.  We're definitely doing it next year and we'll be spreading the word.  Having a great time with the girls, shedding a few pounds, and raising money for a good cause.  What's not to like?!
