Delighted To Join The Dementia Action Alliance

The Alliance is a coming together of local people, businesses, and health and social care professionals to work towards the creation of a more dementia-friendly society

The number of people living with dementia in the UK is set to double in the next 40 years, meaning over 1.7 million people will be living with dementia by 2051.

Whilst it is currently thought that little can be done to prevent dementia, what we can do it create a community that is more understanding of, and sensitive to, the needs of those living with dementia.

The Dementia Action Alliance is working towards this goal by helping to create over a million ‘dementia friends’ by 2015. These are people who learn a little about what it’s like to live with dementia, and then turn that understanding into action.
