Love Your Lungs!

Published: 23/06/2021

Over the last year, the pandemic has made us become more aware of how important it is to look after our lungs.

Over the last year, the pandemic has made us become more aware of how important it is to look after our lungs. Love Your Lungs week takes place from 21-27th June and Bluebird Care Islington & Hackney is thoroughly backing this campaign.

1 in 5 people in the UK will be affect by a lung disease such as asthma, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or another long-term respiratory condition. Approximately every week, 10,000 people in the UK are newly diagnosed with a lung disease. The theme of this year’s Love Your Lungs Week focuses on looking back over the last year of the pandemic and celebrating how we have loved our lungs and we will continue to do so.

Michael Hackett, Director of Bluebird Care Islington & Hackney, said:

“Covid-19 has shown us how important it is to be aware of our lung health. We are supporting The British Lung Foundation’s campaign to raise awareness and make sure that we are taking steps to improve our lung health. Let’s love our lungs and see how we can improve and maintain good lung health.”
