Bluebird Care Hull & Beverley "shocked and saddened" after social care left out of Budget
We’re shocked and saddened that the crisis in social care, which is leaving countless vulnerable people without the help they need and crippling the NHS, didn’t even warrant a mention in today’s Budget. As a member of the UK Homecare Association we fully support chief executive Bridget Warr CBE’s call for urgent government action to stop social care collapsing.

Bluebird Care Hull customer speaks to press after council tries to move her to cheaper company
Bluebird Care Hull and Beverley customer Hilary Tobin has spoken to the Hull Daily Mail about her distress at council plans to move her care package to a cheaper company. Ms Tobin came to Bluebird Care in December after we took on 30 customers following an emergency request from Hull City Council. The move came after the council’s “preferred providers” were placed into special measures.

The crisis facing the care system in Hull and the rest of the country has been highlighted in a recent BBC investigation, which can be viewed online. "(The film) makes a very simple point," says Bluebird Care Hull and Beverley director Mike Thompson. "We have a problem in social care."
