Keep Warm Keep Well!

Published: 07/12/2018

As the winter draws in, we are continuing full steam ahead with our “Keep Warm Keep Well” campaign. The campaign aims to target those who are more vulnerable in the cold weather, and provide advice and tip to prevent accidents and illness, caused by cold weather.

In the past few months, we have already acted upon this campaign, giving members of their staff special gloves so that they can use their phones (and the Pass app (our revolutionary paperless care management app) without getting too cold, and also publishing tips online.

With snow on the horizon and the summer heatwave already a distant memory, meteorologists are reporting that this is set to be one of the coldest winters in around ten years, so these tips could prove more than useful.

If you yourself are vulnerable, or if you know anyone that may be, then please advise them to take on board the below words of advice:

  • Get the Flu Jab!
  • Keep one room warm at a time
  • Have plenty of hot drinks
  • Make sure you layer up!
  • Keep a good supply of food at home

Bluebird Care Hounslow and Chiswick’s Care Manager, Halina spoke out about vulnerable people in winter time:

A lot of people don’t realise actually how dangerous the cold weather can be to a vulnerable or older person.

Please, if you have a vulnerable neighbour, go and check on them to make sure they have something warm to eat give them the recommended tips!
